Novotel Wollongong Northbeach

The room was excellent, the bed extremely comfortable, and the buffet breakfast had a huge range of options. We were also really impressed by the in-room dining. Sebastian patiently took time to explain the menu and help accommodate a food allergy for someone else in our group. Nothing was too much trouble. The care from staff was incredible. While checking in, I suddenly had low blood sugar and felt quite unwell. Alice at reception stayed with me, made sure I was okay, arranged for the corner shop to open, and got me jellybeans, which helped enormously. Elle in the restaurant kindly brought me a cup of honey to help raise my blood sugar, and a gentleman helped take our bags up while I recovered. Their calm support and thoughtfulness meant so much to me and my family. The customer service was better than at any five-star hotel we’ve stayed in. The staff are a credit to the hotel, and we’ll definitely be back.

We booked last minute and had an amazing stay. The ocean view was beautiful, and it felt like a little staycation where we didn’t need to leave, with a mini convenience store, restaurants, bars, a gym, and a pool. The food and drinks surprised my husband and me with their quality. The prawn and lobster rolls, poek skewers, oysters, and zucchini flowers were delicious, and the cocktails were top notch. The staff were lovely and accommodating, and even offered us a 12pm checkout. I’d definitely stay again and recommend it for a short or long visit.

I stayed for a work conference and was thrilled with the venue. The rooms were comfortable, and the conference rooms were set up perfectly, with lovely deck space. The food was excellent quality and tasty, with a lovely breakfast buffet that was filling without being too great. Highly recommended.

The room was clean and comfortable, and check-in was quick. The location was ideal, and I liked the soft bed. The bathroom felt dated, though, with a stained bath and basin, old floor tiles, and hair left behind by previous guests. I also tried the heated pool at night, but it didn’t look clean, with a greasy film floating on the surface. In my opinion, three stars is about right for the hotel. Breakfast was a real letdown: there were too many people for the amount of food, most plates stayed empty for ages, and I couldn’t find any scrambled eggs or pastries. This was at 8am on a Saturday, with people also struggling to find seats. I might come back, but I definitely won’t book breakfast again.
