The rooms are nicely refurbished and modern, but the stay was a letdown. At 8:30 in the morning, the cleaning staff were talking socially very loudly, which seemed one way to get guests out early since nobody could sleep in. At $370 a night for an old, refurbished highway motel, I expected better from the staff. The room wasn’t cleaned daily, either. I wouldn’t usually complain about these things, but for that rate the standards should have been higher. I won’t be back.

At $540 for two nights, we didn’t feel room 6 was worth the price. There were three beds but just one bedside table, so it felt cramped, and there was mould on the bathroom ceiling with no fan above the bed. The staff were lovely and helpful, and town was a 10-minute walk away. The shower had good pressure, but with no screen, water spread right across the wet room and we had to keep mopping it up.

The rooms seem to have had a recent refurbishment and were adequate. Just be aware the motel is run separately from the pub, and its position near a main road means there’s traffic noise until early evening.

For the price, this was better than some places I’ve stayed that cost more. It was very clean and had aircon, a TV, and a kitchenette with milk, coffee, tea, a microwave and a kettle.

A tidy, clean place in a great spot. They’ve also provided pretty much all the basic things you’d need.
