Woolgoolga Motor Inn

Our 2yo daughter got overwhelmed by being somewhere unfamiliar and suddenly wanted to go home, so we decided to check out that night. We were only 3+ hours from home, and when my hubby went to tell the owner, he came back with a book and extra biscuits for her. He was so apologetic, even though her homesickness wasn’t something he could help. His kindness felt completely genuine and nearly brought me to tears. The staff had already gone out of their way to make sure we had what we needed. The rooms are a bit old, but clean and very comfortable, with everything you need and comfy beds. The pool was lovely too. We’d meant to stay here on our way back from a couple of weeks in Sydney over Christmas, just my hubby, me and our daughter. I’d 1000% stay again, and next time we’ll actually stay the night!

The staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed at the motor in on our way home. The room looked clean, but it was run down and that made it look dirty. The pool and BBQ area didn’t look inviting either.

I hope you might remember me from the photo I’m attaching. Seven or eight years ago, four Koreans, two men and two women, stayed at your motel for about a month. After we’d been there a while, you lowered the room price. I sometimes helped tidy up or empty the trash, and you used to nag me because I smoked a lot. Now and then I watched TV with you in the lounge where you stayed. It took me a while to find your motel because I still hadn’t memorized the address properly, but I’ve found it now. I may just have been one guest passing through for you, but when I was struggling back then, you were a benefactor to me. Looking back on that time feels strange. I’m so happy to be able to thank you again. My English is poor, but I’d like to stay again someday.

The cheery manager welcomed us at the motel on the northern approach to town and agreed to a special walk-in price. The place was spacious, neat and tidy, though maintenance seemed to have been overlooked a bit. The floor inside felt icy when wet, and the fridge wouldn’t cool no matter what setting we chose. As time goes by.
