NRMA Treasure Island Holiday Resort

Kaitlin and Jamie at the Activities Hub were fantastic, going out of their way to welcome and entertain the kids. There was loads for families to do, from mini golf and pools to the pirate themed water park, and the kids activities were great. It would be good to have a few more running outside school holidays. The food was delicious, and our Courtside Ideal Cabins were spotless, tidy, well cared for, and had super comfortable beds. The whole park was clean and well maintained, with a great atmosphere. We had an amazing stay at NRMA Treasure Island Gold Coast and would definitely return!

Jamie ran the evening events and was such a friendly guy, making sure everyone felt included and always ready to help. The Mother’s Day activities made my first Mother’s Day really special. We were there for three nights around the 10th May, staying in our caravan. The sites were large and well kept, the facilities were clean and good, and the community was great. The pool was amazing for the kids. The bistro and restaurant were closed while they worked on them, but they put up tents so night activities like bingo and trivia could still go ahead. The location was handy, not far from Surfers and all the worlds. Hopefully we’ll be back one day!

Our second visit was in a spacious 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom ensuite, pandanus villa, which works well for a family of four. It has a private deck with a bbq and outdoor dining, a roomy living area, indoor kitchen and dining, laundry facilities, and the bonus of two bathrooms. I’d still visit again, but there were some disappointing changes and issues. The park was extremely crowded during school holidays, as expected, and the pools were packed on hot days with no shade. The poolside and public area furniture has changed from reclining pool seats to plastic cane pieces with white cushions. They were stained and ripped, and every seat was cracked or had a large hole, so sitting by the pool to watch the kids was harder. The mini golf course needs a cleanup too, with leaves and debris on the greens, and lighting that made some holes hard to see after dinner. We were shocked to pay almost $17 for a coffee and hot chocolate, then had to go back a few minutes later because the hot chocolate tasted like warm milky water. The rules seem good, but nobody enforces them. For example, kids weren’t wearing helmets on scooters or bikes, and every second child seemed to be on an electric scooter or e-bike. Twice at the splash park, I saw adults and kids bring dogs in, while staff looked on and said nothing. There are some good extras: kids can hire karts, and the basketball and tennis courts, table tennis, mini golf, night time cinema on the grass, playground, jumping pillow, and splash park are all free. The pools are open early until 9pm. Harbour town is a few minutes’ walk from the front gate, Hungry Jacks is across the road, Woolworths is up the road, and Coles is down the road. Surfers Paradise and the theme parks are both about 10kms away in opposite directions. The pools need shade and the furniture really needs replacing with something hard wearing, without white cushions.

The bistro was a highlight, tasty, generous portions and good prices. There’s plenty to do here, especially for families, and the facilities are great. We also found the phone staff really helpful when we made a last-minute campsite booking, which made it much less stressful. The toilets use pin locks for added security. We had a fantastic time and would come back in a heartbeat.
