Yarralen Retreat

The property’s artworks, created by Julie, were a favorite discovery for the kids and me. We also enjoyed the walking track and seeing the peacocks and chooks. We stayed in Studio 2, a quirky, arty, homely space with the basics we needed and a super comfy bed. Julie was warm and down to earth, greeting us after we arrived and making us feel welcome. Tucked into the bush but easy to reach nearby scenic attractions, it was a peaceful place to switch off, reconnect, and reset. We’ll be back. It’s a credit to you, Juile!

I planned to stop for just one night on my way through to Brisbane in my camper, but liked the peaceful spot so much I stayed a second night. The little camp kitchen was great, and I loved hearing the wildlife around me.

Julie made us feel welcome and relaxed straight away, even though we arrived early. She shared some of her own food and freshly hatched eggs, showed us around the plot, and we watched the sunset views together. The pool and sauna were great too. We left feeling refreshed and ready to get back on the road on our bikes. Many thanks, Dave & Dawn.

We arrived at dusk, and Julie kindly warmed up the sauna so we could use it and the pool. Both were gorgeous. It was busy with campers over the school holidays and long weekend, but there was a lovely community feel, with fires glowing and kids playing. The next morning we walked through the woodlands and rainforest to the billabong, absolutely gorgeous. Thank you, Julia and Cliff, for sharing this beautiful property. We hope to stay longer next time.
