Young Goldrush Motel

The room was musty, dirty and eerie, with old seventies decor. It had four bedrooms, no kitchen sink, and office chairs in two of the bedrooms. We had to carry our suitcases up a large staircase, and there wasn't even an ironing board. We didn't sleep a wink. The motel was empty, but after I booked and told them there were two of us, they said we needed the apartment at $220 a night. I was furious when I found out we could have stayed in a normal room with a single and double bed for a third of the price. It felt like they were trying to raise revenue for the week by putting us in this room. I'm disgusted. In 40 years of travelling, this was by far the worst accommodation I've stayed in. Do better.

A clean, simple room, a good size and with all you need. The bed was comfortable, toiletries were supplied, and it was fly screened, always a bonus. Owner Brendan, from memory, was very helpful when I checked in late at the last minute. I'd stay again.

I had room 2 downstairs, with one double and one single bed. It was a lovely place to stay, and the room was comfortable and very clean, including the bathroom. The owner was polite and accommodating. The bed was lovely, with crisp clean sheets, blankets, aircon heater and big pillows. The room was well equipped with fresh milk, toaster, microwave, shampoo, conditioner, soaps, shower caps, hair dryer and all utensils. I booked through the motel for $130 a night, instead of the $155 shown on booking dot com. I'd fully recommend it and will stay again.

Brendan was amazing and went above and beyond for us, including giving great tips on local places to eat. Our apartment style room was clean, well kept and very comfortable. Thanks for a great stay. I'll definitely book this room again.
