The location is hard to beat, right on Nizami pedestrian street and within walking distance of Old city Baku and Baku Corniche. Our deluxe room, with a window overlooking the pedestrian street, was super affordable and worth what we paid. Breakfast was really tasty. The hotel was very clean, including the public areas, which matters to me because I’m picky about cleanliness. When we went out, housekeeping tidied our things neatly. I’d forgotten to put the DND sign outside, and they even put my wife's jewellery back in its box. That was thoughtful. Service was top notch. Afgan and Seymur were awesome, and the other staff were polite and friendly too. When they asked if we needed anything, it felt like they genuinely meant it. They deserve all my appreciation. Sometimes I wonder whether the people writing bad reviews are being truthful.
We were in a group booking for 3 nights, with each of us in a single room, so the hotel can accommodate groups. The location is ideal for bars, restaurants, shopping, and trips, all at reasonable prices. There are international and Azir brands nearby, and the old town is just around the corner for historical photos, wandering around, and picking up souvenirs. My room was small but very clean, with marble surfaces, hot water, and the toiletries you’d expect from an international hotel. The bed was small but comfortable for me. I was in a front room and could hear music and people until about 1am, so a room at the back would probably be better. Afgan and Muhammed were helpful and accommodating. The city and surrounding area are magnificent, with architecture ranging from early centuries to today’s modern skyscrapers. The streets were spotless, with no litter or graffiti, and I didn’t see homeless people begging. There’s a lot of security around, so I felt completely safe. People are friendly, and as long as you behave yourself, you’ll be fine. Confirm the taxi price before you hire one, as they have a reputation. Walking around, you might not know you were in the Middle East. The architecture is stunning, and the public parks and squares are immaculate. Put it on your list, you won’t be disappointed.
The only part that bothered me was the door between our room and the one next door. It was shut and there wasn’t any noise, but it left me feeling short on privacy. It didn’t spoil the stay, though, and I had a great time. I spent 5 days at the hotel on April. The reception staff and bellboy were friendly, the breakfast was delicious, and the location was right in the city center. The view of the street was fine. Thanks, guys.
Don’t book here! It’s one of the worst hotels in Baku, and it feels like a rip-off. The room was cramped, stuffy, uncomfortable, and smelled bad. The bed was listed as a roomy double, but it barely felt big enough for one and a half people, nowhere near suitable for two. The website only shows the nicer rooms, not this kind. When I complained, staff told me I’d booked a standard room and would have to pay more for an upgrade, while my payment was non-refundable either way. Really frustrating and dishonest. I regret staying here and wouldn’t recommend it.
Bars and restaurants are all around, and the hotel is handy for the metro, Old City, Baku Boulevard, and pretty much everywhere else in the center. The staff were so friendly. Mohamed even helped carry my suitcase to the spot where my Yango driver was waiting, which I might not have found on my own. A good budget choice if you want a central base.
