Capitol Hotel

We spent five nights there last week(April 2025), and had no complaints about the room. It was spacious, warm, and clean, even with heated bathroom floors and towel racks. The breakfast buffet wasn't huge, but the food was good quality, and the staff were very helpful. It's a nice, very clean hotel with friendly staff. I don't understand all the hateful comments from people from a certain country. Highly recommended. Love from Sri Lanka!

The staff were friendly, pleasant, accommodating, and quick to sort out the small issues we had with the amenities. The room was a decent size, never felt cramped, stayed at a comfortable temperature, and was cleaned well every morning. Wi-Fi was good, and the heated bathroom floor was a nice touch. Breakfast had a good range of food, enough for both my wife and me even though we like different things. Nearby, a short walk gets you to diners, restaurants, pharmacies, grocery stores, and ATMs. It's a pleasant neighborhood with several embassies nearby and police on duty, so it felt safe to walk at night. We stayed several nights at Capitol during our visit to Baku and had a very good experience. There were a couple of hiccups: the hot water went out once and wasn't available for a day, and some bathroom fittings, including the bidet and shower head, need replacing. They also ask for a 50 Manat deposit or to hold a passport, which felt a bit odd these days, though it wasn't the end of the world. I'd recommend it 10/10.

The breakfast was poor and didn't taste good. Some items were missing on several days, including coffee. My bathroom was very dirty, with several things not working as they should. There was a door between my room and another room, so I could hear all the noise from next door. One of the worst hotels I've stayed in.
