Hillside City Center Boutique-Hotel

We were three girls in the triple economy room, which has two bedrooms, and it fell far short of what we expected from the pictures. Both rooms had dirty sheets, and paint peeling from the ceiling got dirt over everything. There was dirt everywhere, including under the bed and inside the fridge, plus a bad smell throughout. There was hardly any space and only one small closet shared between both rooms. The place gets no sunlight and always smells. We think the whole room needs renovating.

The reception staff were so nice 👍. The hotel is close to everything, and you can walk anywhere in the city. They clean the room every day, so don’t bother putting out a clean room sign. Just be sure to leave a tip for the room cleaner!

I stayed there for a week and had a pathetic experience with the service. At 8:30 in the morning they showed me a room, I agreed and paid, then they told me check-in was at 2pm. At my request they changed it to 12pm, even though I was tired after flying straight from the airport to the hotel. I went out into the streets, and when I came back they said that room wasn’t available and I’d have to stay in another one. It was connected by stairs to the second floor, and guests walked through the stairs all night. I couldn’t sleep during any of the six nights. I complained, but they said there were no rooms available, even though I saw empty rooms myself. I’m back in my country and still have a headache from not sleeping for a whole week. The rooms aren’t soundproof either. I could hear people in other rooms, even during sex. I’d never recommend staying there.

The calm, child-free atmosphere was a real plus, and the rooms were well priced in a central spot. But the service is what I’ll remember most. Edwin welcomed us like family and looked after us from the minute we arrived. I’ve stayed in all kinds of hotels, including five-star places, and haven’t experienced hospitality like this before. I’d give the service 100 stars if I could. Thanks to Edwin, our stay felt so welcoming and memorable. I’ll definitely return when I’m back in Baku.
