By Western standards, this is a 2 star hotel. It was clean enough, and there’s a minibar, though no coffee in the rooms. Breakfast is included but very basic. The staff are sweet and helpful. It’s on a main avenue, but nights aren’t busy or loud.

We stayed here during the F1 weekend, and I can’t think of any real positives. The rooms were extremely dirty and didn’t feel safe. Staff weren’t very helpful when we asked questions, and our room key never worked, so we had to request a new one every day. The breakfast may have been the worst I’ve ever had in a hotel. I wouldn’t advise anyone to stay here.

There’s free parking, a fitness center, a spa and sauna, and a restaurant on site. The rooms are roomy and soundproofed, and the multilingual staff are friendly. Opera Hotel Baku feels like a welcoming mid-range place to stay.

The staff are really helpful and keen to make you happy, though there are only a few of them. It feels like the same two to five people are everywhere, doing their best to serve. They make a good effort with the food, and the setting is pleasant. If you find a rate under $50 a night, it’s worth the money. It’s a bit far from the center, though.

There are plenty of restaurants nearby, and traffic around the hotel moves smoothly. It’s close to Heyder Aliyev Center. The rooms have plenty of space, and the place is clean and family-friendly. We had a good stay, and the staff were friendly.
