The staff were professional throughout and welcomed us like family. The hotel is in a great part of the Old City, making it easy to see the sights and get around the rest of Baku. We had a wonderful stay.

I had a confirmed booking but couldn’t travel because of the war and the airspace closure. I explained what happened to the hotel, but they refused any refund and kept the full amount without offering a solution. The situation was completely outside my control, and I expected at least some understanding or flexibility. Very disappointing customer service and little empathy for guests.

I had to cancel a booking that didn’t include free cancellation because of some issues. They cancelled it without charging me. They’re professional and ethical, and seem to value their customers more than the money.

We ended up at Shirvanshah Hotel by accident after our original hotel couldn’t find our reservation, but we were glad we did. The rooms were clean, the breakfast buffet was very good, and the service was nice. They helped us get around town, find good food, and even arranged a driver for the next part of our journey. Well-earned five stars.

Rooms are clean, and the staff know English. There’s an English menu too, and they serve alcohol and other drinks. For a three- or four-day stay, you may find a few vegetarian choices, like rice, salad, or juices. The hotel is okay.
