White Boutique Nizami Hotel

The location on Nizami St is excellent, but I wouldn't stay here again. The rooms are large, yet old and dated, whatever the photos suggest. It's on the 2nd floor, with stairs or a narrow, old elevator. If the elevator is occupied, expect to carry your luggage up the narrow stairs. Breakfast is offered, but there's no dining area. You have to request it, wait while it's prepared, then eat in your room. I'd skip it and go to the restaurants downstairs. Fresh towels may not be available when you need them. They asked for full payment before letting us into the room. Their card reader may not work. Our card worked elsewhere in Baku, but they insisted on cash and even accompanied us to the nearest ATM. The advertised price isn't worth it. I'd look for a hotel around the corner with a street-level lobby.

The building needs a lot of repair and maintenance, and the staff seemed unwilling to provide even a small extra benefit to guests. If staying on Nizami Street is your priority, this guest house converted hotel may suit its given star rating. Otherwise, you may find better options at reasonable rates.

The location is the best part, right in the middle of Nizami street and about a 10-minute walk from the old city. It's affordable, and if you're planning to spend your time out of the hotel, you can stay here. Just be aware it's a one-floor hotel with old furniture and towels, water leaking in the toilet, no food service, and water bottles aren't always available in the room. By the end, the location is what makes you feel satisfied.

We arrived just one day before leaving for Dubai, and we really liked both the family rooms and the location. Mr. Yunas made us feel welcome and helped us throughout our stay. He suggested local food restaurants and even booked a taxi to the airport on our last day. He's a good host and a gentleman.
