There are breathtaking places to see nearby, and the place itself feels so cosy and homey. The host is super friendly too. I’d happily recommend it, five stars!

We booked the first floor of the house, and inside it was clean and new, with comfortable beds. But there were dormice, or maybe several, in the attic above us. They scratched, banged, made shooting noises and even coughing sounds all night, loudly enough to keep us from sleeping. We had a baby and four other small children with us, so it was really unpleasant. I wish we’d been told about it ahead of time. We’d hoped to get some rest on the way to the sea, but hardly slept at all. They offered us the bungalows, which were fine too, but they felt cramped and too hot for us, so we still wanted the place we’d booked.

The hosts’ warmth made this stay special. They pointed us toward hidden spots in Sutjeska National Park and local restaurants with authentic food, which added a lot to our vacation. The swimming pool was another treat, with clear water that was changed regularly, just right for cooling off on hot summer days. The Sutjeska River ran through the landscape, its clear water making a sound that felt like music and brought a lift to the mind and soul. It’s a relaxing escape from daily life, full of memorable sights and sounds of nature. For me, it became both a lasting memory and a reason to want to return. Some things to try: go rafting, visit the high mountain lakes where the water is clean enough to drink, ride a horse through the untouched scenery, and make sure to walk through the rainforest.

The house has what you need and feels cosy, with good value for the money. There’s a water source about a two-minute walk away. A few small things could use attention, like mowing the grass, but otherwise it was OK. The battle monument isn’t far, and Maglić and Trnovačko are nearby too.
