Hotel Staccato

The staff were professional and polite, but there was no hot or even lukewarm water. A loud wedding party was happening downstairs, and I could still hear the music through earplugs. The AC didn’t work all the time. We were supposed to have a bath, but got a shower instead. With no usable water, we didn’t complain about that.

Prijedor itself didn’t have anything special for me, and I stayed because a company working with mine had arranged this hotel. So far, it’s one of the best hotels in Prijedor. The owner is a Muslim Bosnian, so if you’re unsure about meals that fit Muslim traditions, you can enjoy your meal. Some staff speak both Turkish and English perfectly, though there aren’t many of them. If, like me, you enjoy playing guitar, you’ll love the music-themed decor. There are medieval pictures, music notes, album covers and photos of famous musicians on the walls. An acoustic Fender guitar sits in the middle of the dining hall. The owner’s vintage electric guitar is buried in the ground like a glass guitar grave, and there’s even a real drum set on the ceiling, decorated as a lamb. The hotel’s water is drinkable.

We had a wonderful time and plan to return when we visit Prijedor again. The food was fantastic, the servers were wonderful, and the music was the best. It’s a lovely restaurant and hotel.

For me, this is the one great place to rest and eat, with professional, friendly service. Wishing them all the best for the future.
