Hotel Nova Bentbaša

The hotel is only a short walk from the old Sarajevo restaurants and shops, and there’s a trail along the river nearby. Parking on the street next to the hotel is free. Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived, but the staff gave us drinks while they finished preparing it. Breakfast came with our booking. It’s small but complete, and you have to ask the staff for a good coffee. The price is fair. The only issue was a wedding at the hotel: we had to wait for the music to stop before we could sleep.

After traveling for 15 hours without sleep, all we wanted was a chance to rest. Nobody told us there’d be a loud wedding that night, and the noise made sleeping impossible. It spoiled the whole stay. The hotel’s lack of communication was really disappointing.

The breakfast was very basic, and staff didn’t replenish it. We saw guests go elsewhere to eat while breakfast was still being served because the food had run out. During our five-day stay, our room wasn’t cleaned even once, and we had to keep asking for toilet paper. Some bathroom lights were missing, so putting on makeup was impossible. There was no fridge to keep water cold, which meant buying a fresh cold bottle every few hours, and the Wi-Fi didn’t work at all. I had to use all my personal data. It was a horrible experience, and the nightly price wasn’t justified.

The city centre is within walking distance, which is a good location. But there’s no elevator, the breakfast selection is too limited, and the bathroom has a clear window straight onto the shower area, with no privacy.
