Tower Hostel

The rooms were nice and clean, and the value for money was very good. I arrived in Sarajevo by motorbike and needed somewhere safe to park. The owner kindly opened the gate and moved his car whenever I needed to get out. The location is great, with maybe 1 km or less of uphill walking from the centre.

I spent two nights here and really enjoyed it. It’s a small family business, pretty close to the city centre, and has a nice view over the city. The place was quiet, the atmosphere was lovely, and I could recharge my batteries. The courtyard is bicycle friendly, and I had no particular trouble with the WiFi.

Room Number 3, at the top of the building, was the highlight for us, with its breathtaking view of Sarajevo and a large balcony along the side. The Tower Hostel feels like staying in a local house adapted for guests. It’s quiet, clean, affordable, and well looked after, with a nice entrance and garden. The climb up from the city centre takes 10 minutes, but it’s quiet up there, and there’s a bus too. Talk with the staff about Sarajevo’s history, they know more than your local newspaper. Great place, strongly recommend!

We felt safe and comfortable in the clean rooms and bathrooms, and we even extended our stay for another night. The location is very good, about a 5 min walk down the hill to the centre. We had a nice, educational conversation with the very hospitable owners and were even offered free beer. Our Airbnb had scammed us, so we needed somewhere to stay for the night. Even though it was 12am and almost every room was booked, they answered the phone and found a solution for us. Whenever I come back to Sarajevo, I’ll stay here. Thanks again for helping us out.
