Courtyard by Marriott Bridgetown, Barbados

The rooms are large, clean, and comfortable, and the hotel generally feels very professional with great service. Shaunae, Shadae, and Shaquille at the desk were lovely, attentive, and professional. I had two things come up that still don't feel resolved. I was checking in while waiting for clearance to fly after surgery and stepped on glass in the bathroom right away. Also, my booking clearly said in bold that breakfast was included, but in the morning I was told it wasn't, adding the cost of another night to my nine-night stay.

Shaunae was very helpful during check-in, and Shadae was kind that morning. The staff were lovely and responsive, but they didn't have the authority to sort out either issue to my satisfaction. I'm staying nine nights to recover from surgery while I'm unable to fly. Right away, I stepped on glass in the bathroom, on what was my better side. My booking had repeatedly stated in bold that breakfast was included, but on arrival I learned it wasn't.

The location worked well for both Bridgetown and Saint Lawrence Gap. It was a quiet, comfortable stay, and the staff were friendly and helpful, offering suggestions and whatever assistance I needed as a visitor. The rooms were nice, and the patio and pool area were pleasant. The pool is small, but perfectly adequate for relaxing. The restaurant area is nice, though it doesn't have outdoor seating.

Shaquille (“Shaq”) at the front desk made my stay at the Courtyard by Marriott Barbados. I realized I'd made a booking mistake, and he jumped in right away, kept me informed, and worked with his manager to get it resolved smoothly. His kindness and professionalism made the whole visit enjoyable. Thank you, Shaq!
