Regent Apartments

The location was perfect, with the beach, cafés, places to eat, and a supermarket all within walking distance. Janice met us when we arrived and explained everything. The apartment was clean and comfortable, though the bathroom could use an update. The kitchen had plenty of appliances, but could have used a sponge and some cleaning liquid. Cleaners came on our second day and replaced the towels, but left the dirty dishes unwashed. Those are the reasons we gave it three stars instead of five.

We enjoyed our stay. The apartments are quaint and cozy, with clean rooms, an efficiency kitchen, dining area, and separate bedroom. There's air conditioning in the bedroom, so the kitchen and living area can feel warm, though it cools down nicely at night. These aren't four-star hotel apartments, but the coziness and service we received there and on the island were lovely. Groceries are very expensive, at least three times what they cost in Canada, and that's in US dollars.

Janice, the manager, was really helpful and informative. The location was lovely and peaceful, and the bungalow had more space than I expected. It looked a bit tired and could use an update, but we were comfortable and it didn't affect our holiday.

The manager apologized and fixed the problems after I pointed them out, but that came far too late, especially with my 19 month old granddaughter staying there. For a place advertised with a "gold" rating, there were too many basic safety and health issues. The glass on the lounge table was cracked, a bedroom chair had a broken leg, and one cupboard was missing its handle. The kettle leaked even though an electric cooker was in place, and there were problems with the shower and TV. The safe wouldn't work and jammed with my passport and money inside. I also couldn't make international calls, even from the sister Appartments five minutes away, because I wasn't registered on their system. I wouldn't stay there again.
