Dover Beach Hotel

The restaurant had a good range of dishes, and I was glad they offered a vegetarian breakfast. The vegetable soup was the exception for me, though. I even joked that coconut milk might help 😂. I was also impressed by the staff, who were all so friendly. One of them let me borrow a few books from the shelf for my crowded journey home. The hotel itself surprised me too: from the outside I wasn't expecting much, but it turned out to be beautiful. My room had a kitchenette with the utensils and appliances I needed, including a stove, refrigerator, and microwave.

I've been here three times in less than a year, and it's still my favorite place to stay on the South Coast. It's clean, quiet, nice, and affordable. Though it's at the end of the Gap, the whole strip of restaurants and bars is within walking distance. The staff make you feel like family and put in a lot of effort to make your stay pleasant and memorable.

The pools and grounds feel lush and inviting, and the staff are always around when you need help. The rooms have been updated, though you can still see a little wear. The location is excellent, close to everything St Lawrence Gap has to offer and to several excellent beaches.

The room was clean and nicely decorated, and the bed linens at Dover Beach Hotel were just right for me, with the high thread count sheets I like. The restaurant, The Sea Grape, served excellent food, and Keria, the bartender, makes an excellent rum sour. I also enjoyed both swimming pools. Dover Beach Hotel sits right by the ocean, with beautiful views, and the staff were friendly and responsive. In St. Lawerence gap there are plenty of restaurants, stores and local shops within walking distance. We walked around after dark without any problems. It's one of Barbados's best kept secrets.
