Rostrevor Hotel

It’s a small hotel with a good breakfast and a very convenient location. Dover Beach is five minutes away, Worthing Beach takes ten, and Oistins is a ten-minute minibus ride. There are lots of bars and restaurants nearby too. Special mention to Verna, she’s a diamond 💎.

After more than 30 years away, I stayed at the Rostrevor for eight days. I’d been there many times over the years, and the hotel is still great, with clean rooms and wonderful staff. St Lawrence Gap is a good location with plenty of restaurants. I’d especially recommend Harlequin, and a big shout out to Wilson, Angela, Judy, and Shevon. My only complaint was music from Sharkeys, directly across the street, which went on until 2 am on some nights.

The hotel itself is pretty good, and the location could be great. But the bar directly across the street points a loudspeaker right at the hotel and has karaoke every night until midnight. It’s unbearable. Don’t stay here if you want to sleep at anything like a normal hour.

The Rostrevor Hotel has plenty of parking for a rental car, and its spot in St. Lawrence Gap puts you close to nightlife, restaurants, and bars. It’s easy to get around the Gap on foot, and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. The hotel has a small pool and a little private beach where I saw nobody swimming, so it felt like I had the beach to myself. Once I saw a sea turtle swim across it beyond the safety rope, but I didn’t have my camera ready. Dover Beach is a five-minute walk, and Worthing Beach is ten minutes away. My only complaint is that the gym is very small and the equipment is outdated. I didn’t come here for the gym, but if that matters to you, you might not want to stay. Otherwise, I’ll be back at the Rostrevor Hotel next time I’m in Barbados.
