Ambassador Residency

The room was comfortable, clean, and worth the price during my three-night stay at Hotel Ambassador Residency in Chittagong. Breakfast was the biggest disappointment, with very little choice and food that didn’t taste good. Service also fell short: they supplied just 500 ml of water a day, which didn’t feel like enough. The room itself met my expectations, but the food and service need a lot of work.

There’s plenty of parking on the ground floor, and the guard was attentive. I also found the reception and room service prompt and courteous. The hotel is a convenient base in GEC mor, with food options such as Zaman hotel and Kasundi nearby. Coming from Dhaka via Bayezid Link road, I reached it within 10 minutes after a few flyovers, so the location was a real plus. The room and bathroom were clean, though the room felt dated and lacked shine. Basic amenities were there, including a hot shower. Breakfast was included, but mediocre, just enough to get by. There’s also a large prayer space on the 5th floor. I was surprised to find a decent hotel so close to the Entrance of Ctg, and it worked well as a place to stay while exploring.

The restaurant is where the stay fell short. The food was okay, but the waiters weren’t cooperative, and there’s no buffet breakfast. They even refused simple requests for chili or onions, saying they couldn’t open the refrigerator before 12 p.m. The hygiene there also needs attention. The rooms are decent, though there’s room to improve cleanliness. The area by the room lobby is poorly lit and feels dull, while the water heater is unreliable and needs urgent attention. The hotel has potential, but cleanliness, lighting, and customer service, especially in the restaurant, need major improvement.
