Renaissance Dhaka Gulshan Hotel

We went for the buffet dinner and enjoyed every bit of it. The place has a royal feel, and the food was so good. They serve both English and continental dishes. There were so many desserts that I couldn't try them all, and they were beyond expectations. Highly recommended.

The room was comfortable, clean, and well kept, with everything arranged neatly. It was quiet enough to really rest. We also felt welcomed and looked after by the polite, attentive staff, who stayed professional without hovering. The food was fresh and full of flavor, and the presentation and range of dishes were impressive. A really lovely experience from start to finish. I'd happily come back, and highly recommend it.

I ended up booking different accommodation at the last minute after the hotel charged me for an extra night I wasn't staying and refused to honor a date change. For days, reservations and front desk staff kept passing me along. In person and on the phone, I was repeatedly told the change wouldn't be a problem, so I thought it was settled. The lack of clarity and transparency was awful, and left me very disappointed.

The main letdown was the mosquitoes gathered around the entrance. For a hotel with such good facilities, that was disappointing, and I hope they deal with it soon. Inside, the rooms and restaurants were clean and well maintained. The restaurants were above average for the area in both food and atmosphere, and made it easy to eat without going out. Security and access control were also well managed, which felt reassuring in Dhaka. It's a clean hotel with quality facilities, comfortable for business or leisure. I stayed at a Marriott-affiliated hotel in Dhaka, and this felt like the leading choice in the area.
