Castle Salam hotel

I've stayed here three or four times for work. The food is a real plus, and having the bus stand right beside the hotel is convenient. I haven't found a better option in Khulna that matches its food and service, so it deserves recognition for that. The gray walls make the rooms feel darker and smaller than I'd like. That's just my personal take, but staying in one too long makes me feel boxed in.

What a terrible restaurant. They quoted 35 minutes and kept us waiting for an hour and a half. The service was so bad that I think street food would be better. I don't see how they could serve better than other places in Khulna. Don't waste your time just to see a view.

The rooftop is lovely at night, and having coffee up there with that view is a treat. The pool and sunset view are good too. Most of the staff were friendly, and the gym was rusty but usable. The food tasted very good, though the extra 25% charge made it unnecessarily expensive. The room experience was much less pleasant. It was gloomy, with no bright lighting option. I requested a room with a nice view, but couldn't keep the curtains open because staff were working across from it. Cleaning was also poor: the bathtub was visibly dirty, the water flask still had a previous guest's water, and the coffee spoon was sticky from not being washed. Bathroom items weren't provided properly each day either. When I asked for a plate, it took 20 minutes to arrive.

We spent five nights here and would've stayed longer, but there was already another booking. For less than 6K, I didn't expect service this good in the area. Great value for the money, and I'd book here again if I return.
