The Grand Hotel BD

The location is good, but the staff came across as business-like and short on warmth. The rooms are small, and most have no windows. Staff told me that only 2 rooms in the whole hotel have windows, which surprised me. The bathroom also needs attention. The shower valve loosened when turned, and there was no ventilation or exhaust fan.

For 2000 BDT, this is not a good choice. I negotiated the price down to 1300 for a Non AC room, but it was small, with an unbelievably tiny bathroom and a bad smell. The bed felt like concrete, and there was no parking. A really saddening stay.

The location is perfect, but the hotel didn't meet my expectations. I booked through Booking dot com two days before arriving in Sylhet, and the site confirmed the room. The website said payment wasn't due until arrival, but when I called, the hotel told me to pay in advance. I ended up paying 50% online. The room was below standard, with a tiny washroom, water leaking all night, and no window. They did bring breakfast to the room. There's still a lot that needs improving. Good luck.

At around BDT 2k, it's a good option with complimentary breakfast, though the breakfast itself is average. The AC rooms are okay, but I wouldn't recommend the non-AC ones because they lack proper ventilation and space. I booked 2 AC and 3 non-AC rooms through Agoda. After seeing the rooms, we asked to cancel the 3 non-AC rooms. They handled it professionally and refunded the room rent, which impressed me. The receptionists were very helpful. I'd recommend the AC rooms.
