Hermitage Guest House

For this price, I could have found a more convenient, nicer resort in sreemangal. At Hermitage Guest House, check-in was chaotic, and the old rooms were filthy and smelled musty. The pool is tiny and gets crowded easily, while the food was overpriced and mediocre. Customer service was dismissive and disappointing when we brought up problems. The owners' behavior was the worst part. The woman owner was very rude to guests, and it felt impossible to have a normal conversation with her. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

We had a peaceful stay at Hermitage Guest House, surrounded by the quiet beauty of Sreemangal tea gardens and bamboo streams. The pool and its calming views were a highlight, and we really enjoyed eating at the restaurant. Our room felt cozy and welcoming. We can’t wait to come back to this beautiful retreat!

The cottages are beautiful, and the owner is an interesting person. The kids really enjoyed the lawn and garden, and I loved the place too. For children's safety, though, the shallowest part of the pool could be made shallower. Also, it’s unacceptable that the toilet beside our room had no ventilation.

The food was bad, and what we got was literally just two pithas with some kind of salsa. We waited about 40 minutes after ordering. When my dad said we’d been waiting too long and were about to leave, the staff replied, “This is how we serve people, and it’s your choice if you want to leave or not.” The kitchen at Hermitage Guest house was awful, and the owner and all the staff were disrespectful and gave my family attitude. Don’t they have any dignity or respect for customers? A 1/10 experience.
