We found this place by chance on our way from Strasbourg to Ghent. It’s just off the main roads, but turned out to be a great find. The room was modern and very clean, and the service was helpful. The restaurant on site is apparently popular with locals, so getting a table there would make it the whole package. Sadly, it was fully booked when we tried, so we had Italian at a great place down the road instead.

The food was the highlight for me, so I’d definitely eat at the hotel. Hostellerie De Biek has a lovely cosy feel, a great room, and really friendly staff. If you’re nearby, it’s well worth staying here.

The hotel is a beautifully converted brewery, and you can see the care that went into turning it into a hotel. We had a good stay in normal weather, with a nice room and excellent food. Dinner took a while, though: four courses over two and a half hours felt slow, even on a Tuesday. I wouldn’t stay here in hot weather, since the AC in my room wasn’t working.
