Arass Hotel & Business Flats

The room was spacious and lovely, and parking in their private lot was easy. The staff really made it, friendly and so helpful. I'd definitely recommend it.

There's a supermarket and a medical store right across the road, handy for stocking up. The place is also conveniently located about a 10 minute drive from Antwerp railway station. If you'd rather not walk, bus number 21 from the station drops you right at Arass. Staff were helpful, the rooms clean, and we had no complaints about our stay.

The rooms were large, but felt suffocating because ventilation was poor, especially in the bathroom and washroom. The layout seemed ridiculous, there were no charging points by the bed, and the beds were uncomfortable, though that part is personal opinion. Kitchen water quality was pathetic. Housekeeping either couldn't or didn't clean properly, and communication from the hotel was lacking. Check-in requirements weren't clear, reception hours were inconvenient, and checkout was a mystery with no proper explanation. Our two days there were a nightmare. I was highly disappointed with the service and would tell people to make this their last option, if they visit at all.

The road outside was busy, with cars and sirens making noise all night. I had booked a double bed but got a twin room instead, and the receptionist said there were no doubles. When I asked about paying extra for a suite, he said it was too expensive and he didn't have time because he had to go home. It was 5:30, and that felt very unprofessional. They also called me at work to ask what time I'd check in because the hotel “closes” at 5:30 PM, which seemed strange. For one night, the 250€ deposit felt excessive. At checkout, the receptionist made me wait while he checked the room for missing items, then returned the deposit in cash in front of other guests. That was uncomfortable and unnecessary. The parking entrance is poorly designed too. With a low luxury car, you risk damaging the front, so I found parking nearby to avoid possible repairs for a “hotel” stay. Staff weren't helpful or welcoming. I wouldn't stay again.
