We only stopped in As for one night while my group and I were passing through to play Escape from the Gricers. A friend who'd made a similar trip told us about this hotel after we initially planned to stay in Antwerp. That tip worked out really well: the location suited us perfectly, the rooms were comfortable for a reasonable price, and the staff were very friendly.

The service was warm and accommodating, and the extensive wine list has plenty of Belgian options. The food was clearly prepared with care, though it wasn't groundbreaking, and the vegetarian dishes were a bit disappointing. We had a pleasant dinner on a quiet Sunday and pretty much had the place to ourselves. There's been a recent change of ownership, and it still seems like they're finding the place's soul. Nothing was wrong with it, but it felt a little bland and not quite there yet. We had a great evening and were looked after carefully. I'd recommend coming, though there's still room to improve.

The rooms were good, the beds cozy, and the food was excellent. I loved the amazing wine selection and had a great experience overall. The service was excellent too, apart from one waitress in the restaurant who seemed to be having a bad day. They're very flexible and dog-friendly: dogs can stay in the room, though not in the restaurant. 🫶

Calling this a four-star "hotel" feels like too much. It's really a restaurant with rooms upstairs. Watch the prices, breakfast alone costs 25 euro (!).

The room itself felt cheap, from the flooring and space to the decor, and the bed was the worst I've ever had. It was so soft it collapsed, and the pillows weren't worth mentioning. The hotel is right by the main road, with speeding traffic noise going on all night and keeping me awake until morning. The ladies at check-in said the noise would stop after 9 p.m., which was nonsense. On top of that, restaurant guests were noisy until midnight, and got even louder as they went upstairs to their rooms.
