Hotel Beco

We'd paid for our meal, so it was disappointing to be treated that way. During a cycling event, I asked if I could bring my bike inside. One owner said yes, but another kept coming over to our table and was rude, telling us we were “like camping” and weren't welcome at their hotel. I hope the restaurant deals with this kind of issue.

The place was very clean, and breakfast was included in the booking. WiFi and the language situation were an issue, though.

I called today to ask about a room and a man answered in a very unfriendly way. He spoke only French. I wondered how I could pay with Visa or Maestro when we use MasterCard in Belgium, and half of Belgium speaks Dutch. I also asked about keto friendly food, but he said there was no special food. That was enough for me to wish him a good day and book somewhere else. That's not how a host should deal with customers. There are plenty of other places to stay.

We paid 15 euros for two cups of coffee a few years ago, even though the listed prices were different. It felt like they'd learned their trade in some shady nightclub. We won't be going back.
