La Chapelle

The owner is very friendly and seems to be the only person who speaks a little English. He wants to do everything for his guests. For one night, this is an okay little hotel, as long as you don't expect too much from a 2 star place. The beds are fine, but the pillows are extremely thin and there aren't any extras. No mini fridge or air conditioning either. The bathroom is adequate, and the rooms are small but okay. Apparently this is an important pilgrimage site, yet the street looks gloomy, almost like the 1950s. It's strange that it looks so run down for such a busy place.

The only drawback for me was breakfast starting at 7:30 or 8:00 am. Otherwise, the included breakfast was quite good. The decor is very nice, it's peaceful, and there's a huge free parking lot right beside the hotel. The rooms and bathroom have been completely renovated.

Anyone passing through Banneux should visit the chapel, too. From the welcome right through to the bill, everything was flawless. We were always warmly welcomed, the menu had plenty of variety, and the dishes were excellent. A must visit in the area.

There's a little shop selling fresh, delicious local products, and the fries at the chip shop are truly excellent. A wonderful experience overall, with a beautiful setting and fantastic owners and staff.
