Hotel de Orangerie by CW Hotel Collection - Small Luxury Hotels of the World

We had an amazing view from our room, and the staff were extremely helpful. They even gave us little gifts when we arrived and when we left, such a lovely personal touch. A beautiful hotel in an ideal location.

We planned one night at Hotel De Orangerie and ended up staying two because it was so comfortable and charming. The hotel sits by one of Bruges’ most picturesque canals, within easy walking distance of the main squares, museums, shops, and restaurants. It feels central but peaceful, a rare combination. Breakfast was a highlight, generous and beautifully presented in a stunning canal view room. We also liked relaxing by the water on the terrace in the late afternoon. The staff were consistently warm, attentive, and professional, with personal, discreet service that reflects the Small Luxury Hotels (SLH) standard. Our room was warm and inviting, with a classic boutique style, and the bathroom was exceptionally large and elegant, much bigger than you’d usually find in a historic European building. The steam function didn't work, but everything else in the room was excellent. The hotel occupies a former 15th-century convent, restored with great taste. Its common areas feel intimate and refined, with fireplaces, rich fabrics, and timeless charm. Hotel De Orangerie gives you an authentic boutique stay, blending history, comfort, and elegance. Apart from the small steam issue, everything was truly excellent. A wonderful way to enjoy Bruges’ charm, and the kind of place that makes you want to stay longer.

We travelled with our dog, and the downstairs room overlooking the terrace was just right. There was no passing traffic and the terrace was closed. The room was comfortable and spacious, and Astrid & Minnewater parks were an easy walk for dog walks. We had a lovely meal with our dog at Diligence restaurant, which features in the film In Bruges. The hotel also recommended Brasserie Raymond and Julia’s as dog friendly. It’s a beautiful hotel in a lovely spot, quiet, cosy and homely while still luxurious. The staff were excellent, available and helpful but discreet. All the sights were within easy walking distance. We hope to return.

The room was small but nice, and the location was great for exploring Bruges on foot, with everything close by. The staff weren’t very welcoming, and service really needs to improve. No one greeted us or made us feel welcome, and we only later found out there were certain discounts, which the front desk never mentioned. Cute place, but service needs major help so guests feel welcome.
