Lace Hotel

The room was plain but reasonably priced, and it was clean, with a nice bathroom and basic toiletries. The location is convenient for the train station, Bruge centre and attractions. The service at check-in was good, but the breakfast staff member seemed miserable. Breakfast itself was awful and not worth paying for. Water was left out but not chilled or replenished, and our bed wasn't made, the room wasn't cleaned, and we didn't get a fresh toilet roll.

We waited over an hour for pasta and a burger, and during that time saw several customers trip on the step on the way to the toilet. It doesn't have a warning sign, and a man fell onto his hip. None of the staff went to help him; my partner and another diner got him up and found him a seat. We chose the place because the menu looked veggie friendly, but the waiters seemed short staffed and rushed. We hadn't stayed at the hotel, just stopped for dinner. We won't be back and would eat somewhere else.

I paid 188.10 Euro for two rooms at the Lace Hotel Bruges for one night. One room had bedbugs, and the person staying there was bitten many times. He left after just a few hours, then sat in reception for hours because no staff were available to offer another room. I was woken very early so we could leave. We sent images and videos to Booking.com. The hotel says there are no bedbugs, even though bloodied bed linen was left in the room. Booking.com offered me a 38 Euro refund to use on its website, which is unacceptable. I couldn't attach a photo.

Our room was tidy and nice, and the front desk staff were really friendly. The hall and lobby could use some paint or repairs, though.
