Hostellerie De Goedendag

We'd been staying in Lissewege for a few days and chose this place for our last-night dinner. Every course, from the aperitif and amuse bouche onwards, was lovely. There's a set menu, but specials and options with or without supplements gave us lots to choose from. Service and food were excellent from start to finish. The little touches made it feel special, and it was such good value for what we got. Definitely one to return to 👍

The accommodation didn't match the quality of the food. The owner said the rooms are being renovated, so I'd ask about the room's condition before booking. Breakfast, though, was a great start to the morning, with lots of choices and a relaxed pace.

Everything looked lovely, except the restaurant. I waited a full 35 minutes for a small portion of fries, and when they finally came, they were undercooked, still had their skins on, and were far too oily.

The buffet was really nice, and the room was big and pleasant. I had to get up early, so I took some breakfast sandwiches with me. Still, I got the feeling the service lady judged me as poor and as someone who didn't belong there. I really felt it, and she wasn't very nice.
