Kees and Kathleen were so welcoming and friendly, and breakfast each morning was wonderful, clearly prepared with care. Kees will even cook eggs and bacon to order. Our room was spacious, clean and really quiet, and the property itself is beautiful. We had a fabulous five nights here. It’s close to everything you’d want to do and see in Bruges. There are only two rooms, so book early if you can get one. I highly recommend it.

The breakfasts were phenomenal, with eggs and bacon to choose from, plus yoghurt, fruit, pastries and freshly squeezed orange juice. Kees and Kathleen were gracious, friendly hosts, and we felt very well looked after. They’d clearly thought of everything to make the stay special and easy. We stayed two nights in November 2018. We’d arranged our arrival time with Kees and Kathleen in advance, and since they weren’t home when we arrived, we used the door code they’d provided. Our keys were waiting in the room. We had the Superior room, a beautifully decorated bedroom with a large, comfortable bed, a clean bathroom and a tidy room. It also had useful extras like a coffee machine, beers and guide books. Speelmansrei is ideally located, a few minutes’ walk from the main square and just off a shopping street. There’s a good-sized supermarket about five minutes away. I’d thoroughly recommend this B&B to anyone visiting Bruges.

The room was large and comfortable, and the breakfasts were great. The hosts were charming, helpful and very friendly. A wonderful B&B on a quiet street near the centre of Bruges.

We had a lovely two-night stay with Kees and Kathleen. The rooms are lovely, the beds are super comfy, and breakfast is really tasty.
