Our room, the one with a view, was spacious, clean, and cozy, and the host was responsive. The check-in instructions were clear and simple. The B&B is perfectly placed, just a few minutes’ walk from the center. Breakfast was basic by British standards, though I noticed most places in Belgium and the Netherlands serve much the same thing. The heating was off at night, so the room got cold. Even so, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend the place to everyone.

Being so close to the central squares made this a perfect base for heading out around town or coming back to rest. Around the corner, Diligence is a great late dining spot with fantastic service. The old house is beautiful, and the interior feels very cozy. We stayed in the belle epoque suite, with its nice big bathtub and small balcony. The bed was more comfortable than any I’ve experienced, even in higher-class hotels. With only three units, the B&B feels very personal. At breakfast we discovered the other two couples were from our town too, what a coincidence! Breakfast is my one complaint: when we opened the sugar box, a bunch of live ants crawled out. That can happen in an old building with a backyard, but it left me uneasy about what we’d just eaten. I had some trouble finding a common language with the staff member, though she was very friendly and attentive. The wooden floors are part of the charm of an old building, but they creak loudly with every step, even when the neighbors are being careful. Keep that in mind if noise bothers you. Otherwise, it’s a very cozy place for a great stay.

The room on the third floor had a lovely view, and it was worth the climb. The building is old and, like much of Brugge, there are a lot of stairs. It’s a cozy place, the staff are kind, and breakfast was okay.

We loved the quirky building, comfy beds, friendly staff, and great en-suites. Breakfast was wonderful, and the location was fab. Our top-floor room had a lovely view, and the chairs by the window caught warm afternoon sun. The one issue was the heating up there. The radiators were turned all the way up but barely warmed the room, while the radiators in our party’s room below worked fine. I’d still come back, though if you’re visiting in the coldest part of winter or feel the cold, keep that in mind.

The Blue Suite was a great stay, with just one thing that bothered me: there was a plastic sheet under the bedding, and I’m not sure why. It made sleeping a little less comfortable. Everything else was lovely. The staff were really helpful and friendly, and the location was amazing, close to the main square but far enough from the busy streets to sleep well. A lovely lady served breakfast, and everything I ate was delicious. The bathroom was adorable and cozy, with useful things like cotton pads and ear swabs. I was pleasantly surprised by the hairdryer too. It was actually powerful enough to dry my hair, unlike the usual weak hotel ones.
