Hotel Jacobs

A cozy hotel on a quiet street, away from the crowds but still an easy walk from the city center. The bus station and Carrefour supermarket are only three minutes away. The shared spaces have beautiful interiors, and the bathroom was roomy enough, with a bathtub. The cleaning lady was thorough and helpful.

Breakfast was the best part: modest in scope, but the fresh bread and ingredients were excellent, delivered early each morning. The staff were helpful throughout. The rooms are quite small, though there are plenty of cupboards and shelves for your things. They’re sparsely equipped, with no fridge or kettle, and there’s no air conditioning. Mosquitoes can get in quickly through an open window, but the ceiling fan above the bed helps. The bathroom is elegant and super comfortable, with a bathtub. Fine for a short stay, though for a longer visit I’d probably look for somewhere better.

The breakfast was very good, and the hotel is within walking distance of the beautiful city center. The woman on the floor was really nice and offered to clean the room right away when we returned at 3 PM for a nap and found it hadn’t been done. We were too tired to wait, so we just took clean towels for a quick shower. Housekeeping happens in the afternoon. The room was small, with the tiniest bathroom I’ve ever seen. A glass shelf right above the tiny sink made it hard to lean over and wash our faces or brush our teeth properly. The rusty-looking white basket holding the soap and shower cups should be changed. There was no air conditioning or closet, just wall hangers. Staff weren’t very friendly. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The fresh breakfast was excellent and delicious, and we loved eating in the beautiful, cozy dining room. It was spotless and everything looked lovely. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, and the cleaning service kept our room spotless during our five days at Hotel Jacobs on Baliestraat in Brugge, Belgium. Our small room had a beautiful view of the historic city, and the heating kept it warm and comfortable through chilly November nights. It was well equipped, though the Wi-Fi was problematic and blocked access to Google Chrome Cast, which was frustrating. The bathroom was fine overall, but the shelf above the sink got in the way when bending over to wash up. Despite those few issues, we had a very positive, cozy stay.
