Le Bois De Bruges

We slept really well. The hotel was quiet and peaceful, the beds were comfy, and our room was clean, warm, and just right for us, with two bedrooms and a small lounge. Reception were friendly and gave us useful details about the Christmas markets. We drove and paid an extra £25 for 24 hours in the underground car park, which made things much easier. On Saturday morning, a busy market selling fruit, vegetables, meat, fish, and flowers was set up just outside. The shopping streets, bars, and restaurants started less than a two-minute walk away. Traditional chocolate shops, pretty buildings, and canals were also only a few minutes on foot, and the Christmas markets were about an 8-10 minute walk. We came with friends for the markets and found the hotel in a perfect location.

The rooms were basic but good, and the hotel looked very clean and well kept. We didn’t use the facilities. It was a last-minute one-night stay, booked the evening before, and when we emailed ahead to ask about connecting rooms, the hotel replied straight away and said they could do it. We felt welcome when we arrived. The man at reception suggested a couple of places for waffles, coffee, and beer, and we tried them without being disappointed. The location worked perfectly for what we wanted to do, with only a short walk to the market square. We’d absolutely come back to Brugge and stay here again.

The beds were extremely comfortable, which made a real difference for me. The hotel could use a little upkeep, and while the location is fantastic and convenient, it can be a bit noisy at night. It has a lot going for it if comfort and location matter most to you.

The price didn’t feel justified for such minimal service. The staff were rude, especially the woman at reception, who made fun of our questions instead of helping us properly. I’d check other hotels.
