Pand 17 - Charming Guesthouse

Breakfast was a real highlight. There was so much food, and it was all incredible. The breakfast team were wonderful, and as someone travelling alone, I loved how warmly they greeted me. I felt thoroughly spoiled, and it was worth the extra fee. At Christmas, the hotel also gave me a little box of chocolates and a card. The location was perfect, close to the heart of Bruges, and all the staff were fantastic, from check-in and showing me to my room to giving me shopping recommendations. They couldn't have done more. I loved my stay overall, though I noticed a few small room issues. The door rattled whenever a large vehicle passed on the adjoining street. Traffic was quiet at night, but I noticed it early in the morning and late at night when I was trying to sleep. The room itself was amazing, tastefully designed to suit the building. The bathroom could use a touch-up: it had black marks, the paint on the door was badly chipped, and the shower tended to flood beyond its area, making it hard to keep the floor dry. If you're driving, I'd recommend booking parking through the hotel. I saw cars queuing at the nearby public car park as I drove past to park at the hotel. They have several parking spots. I was given a garage under another building. It was deep enough, but might not suit a wider car, though the hotel may be able to give you another spot. I'd go back in a heartbeat. I'm sure those small issues are easy to fix, and it was a wonderful stay.
