Cosy apartment in the center of Brussels

Please don't book this property. Getting the key was a miserable start: the lockbox was outside on a street, wedged among metal fence bars. It was pouring rain while I reached between them to get the key, and passing drivers stopped to stare. Finding the apartment was difficult too. Inside, it was filthy. There was hair all over the bed linen, stains on the fitted sheet, and a dirty, poorly maintained shower. I called the owner and got no answer. The only response came by text, telling me not to make a drama over a few hairs. They wouldn't acknowledge that the place was dirty and cold, with a terrible shower, and impossible to spend the night in. I didn't get my money back. Of the €385 deposit, they returned only €307, claiming bank charges, although there are no SEPA bank charges, and daily taxes that I'd already paid. The company's listed address didn't exist either. I called repeatedly trying to speak to someone and recover my money, but couldn't. Hexuvium, the company responsible for the renting, refused to review the evidence I sent. Based on what happened to me, I'd stay away from this property.
