Hotel Derby MERODE

The location was very good, and the room was basic but fine for the standard, with comfortable beds. Huge thanks to the friendly receptionist and cleaning lady. She searched my room four times and eventually found my wedding ring. I really appreciate their honesty and effort!

For this price range, the hotel delivers what you'd expect, as long as you don't come with unreasonable expectations. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable enough, and the showers a bit tight but clean. Breakfast was quite nice. Given the location, I doubt you'll find much better value, though there is still room for improvement.

I stayed here for two weeks on a work trip five years ago. The rooms and bathrooms were clean, and breakfast was generous. The location is especially handy for public transport, with tram, metro, and bus stops all within 50 Mtrs. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, and you can walk to the European Commission offices. Although it’s very close to the market, the rooms were quiet and well insulated.

For the price, this is very good value, with a great location, a clean room, and excellent service. I liked handing my room key to the desk when I went out, since that meant I couldn't lose it, and it was reassuring to have someone at the desk 24/7. The TV in my room didn't work. The internet was fine, so it wasn't a big deal, but it would have been nice to watch TV. Breakfast didn't have much choice, and fresh chopped fruit would've been welcome. All in all, a great base for exploring Brussels, and I'd stay again.
