The restaurant downstairs puts a table right by the hotel entrance, which makes getting in and out difficult. Inside, the pillow was so poor that I rolled up clothes to support my head, and the mattress was so soft that I now have a bad back. The noise was unbearable. The three bedrooms include one directly above another, with no soundproofing, so we got no sleep in the lower room. We tried to turn in before 11 pm, but the people upstairs kept walking around. Just when it seemed to stop, it started again. Around five in the morning they left, making even more noise, including sounds like furniture being knocked over. This was easily the worst hotel stay I’ve had in thirty years of traveling around the world.

The room and location suited the purpose of my trip, though the entrance was cramped and smelled bad. My bigger issue is still unresolved: before arriving, I asked for an invoice and said I needed it right after checkout. That was confirmed, but two weeks later I still don’t have it. I’ve contacted the host several times through booking.com messenger, by direct email, and via booking.com customer service. If you expect decent service beyond automated messages, don’t go there.

The room was roomy and had a beautiful view. The stairs were tough if you’re not fit, especially with luggage, and the lingering sewer smell around the hotel was awful.

The room felt fresh and clean, and the place was stylish and very comfortable. We had two questions, both sorted out within 15 minutes. The location is excellent, with easy car access and a large parking area right in front. Parking is free from 19 to 9. Getting heavy trunks up to the top floor is the one difficulty, so I’d suggest bringing only what you really need.
