Meininger Hotel Bruxelles Gare Du Midi

I've stayed here twice. The rooms are small but nice, and suit a few days well. Each floor has its own color, and the room has heating. One thing to know is that the trash bin doesn't have a liner because they encourage recycling. I think reception may be able to give you one 😅 The hotel is a few minutes' walk from the shuttle bus, which is handy if you have an early flight and want an easier morning. Getting to the city center takes around 30 minutes. There's also a luggage locker room, with what I think are 1-hour, 6-hour, and 24-hour rates. The prices seemed very affordable. I haven't tried breakfast, so I can't say anything about it.

The room and toilet were clean and spacious, and the bed was soft and comfortable. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. It's easy to get to Gare du Midi, which has plenty of amenities. My only issue was the lack of a drinking water dispenser. I was told tap water was safe to drink, but it had a smell.

The hotel was very quiet, with no noise from inside or outside, and the location is handy: a few minutes' walk from Midi train, metro and tram station, plus the bus to Charleroi airport. Our family room worked perfectly and the beds were comfy, with a nice hot shower. It could have been bigger, but was fine. Breakfast was an okay buffet, though there wasn't much choice, especially for hot food. It was quite expensive, even with kids paying half price. A very nice budget hotel.

The neighbourhood felt a little seedy, but it was busy around there and we didn't run into any trouble. The hotel is very close to Gare du Midi, with connections everywhere. Brussels hotels are expensive, so this felt like a great find and I'd definitely recommend it. We had a clean, adequate triple room on the ground floor, with comfortable beds and a lovely hot shower. It was basic, with a TV but no tea or coffee facilities. The shared kitchen and café both worked well. Coffee was €4 and croissants €2. If I remember right, bottled alcohol was sold until 10. There were vending machines for snacks too. The place had a great vibe and the seating area was busy. Breakfast was a buffet until 10am, okay but nothing special. The staff were lovely and efficient, and the hotel runs very efficiently to keep costs down. At checkout, luggage lockers were available for €4 for six hours, a brilliant idea.
