Avoid this place. It’s more like a youth hostel than a hotel, with shared toilets and showers across the hallway, something the booking didn’t mention. There’s no AC, and you can hear the person in the next room farting and snoring. Mosquitoes were everywhere, and we spent about an hour killing them on the walls. The slanted walls make it impossible to sit comfortably on the bed. This might be acceptable at £25 a night, but they tried to charge us £77. 🤡 In the end we blocked the card we’d used for the booking, left in the middle of the night, and slept in a car. It was that bad.

The rooms were lovely and clean, with nice surroundings, about a 10-minute drive from Bruge.

Breakfast was amazing, with fresh, quality produce served in a relaxed, peaceful dining area. The rooms were very clean, the beds comfortable, and the location gorgeous, just outside Bruges. The shared bathroom and toilets weren’t an issue for us. We’d definitely stay again.

We held our wedding at De Grote Wateringe, and it all went perfectly. Organizing everything with the owner was easy, and the staff were amazing. The venue and grounds looked beautiful, and the food was fantastic. Our guests have all told us how great the reception food, dinner, and desserts were. Staying in the rooms after the wedding was so convenient, and they were cozy, just what we needed after a night of dancing. We highly recommend De Grote Wateringe for events and overnight stays.

We booked a suite, and it was one of my best experiences. The rooms were big and beautiful, with rustic touches alongside very modern lighting. The bathroom was gorgeous, and the shower was spacious and comfy. Outside, the grounds were beautiful, full of animals, flowers, and nature. The interior architecture felt really relaxing, with cottagecore vibes.
