The roadworks around the airport and confusing signs made the hotel hard to find. Once there, the rooms were clean and standard, with a good shower and Ritual soap. The restaurant and bar are small, and the food menu only has a few familiar choices, though the beer and wine selection is good. It worked well for flying from Brussels airport and leaving my car in the lot, which had a good daily rate. There’s a free shuttle to and from the airport.

The bed was very comfortable, and the breakfast staff were friendly. Breakfast itself was adequate. The direct airport shuttle is less than five minutes away and runs until about 22h50. The room was very plain and fine for one night. The minibar was empty. The windows are well insulated from noise but can’t be opened, and you won’t hear the planes.

Rebecca greeted me with a smile at reception and made my day better. Check-in was quick, and she arranged both a wakeup call and a taxi for my very early flight. Dinner was great, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Good value, with the airport only a few minutes away by car.

I was in the area for a short business trip, and this was conveniently close to the office I visited and only a short free bus ride from the airport. The staff were friendly, and check-in took little time. My room was comfortable and quiet despite nearby planes taking off. It did look a bit dated and could use some updating, but there was nothing major wrong with it. The bar seemed to be under renovation and operating from a small temporary space, but it wasn’t crowded and staff handled it well. Breakfast was reasonable for the price. I’d stay again when I’m back in the airport area.

The airport shuttle was advertised as coming every 30 minutes, but it was late while I waited outside. That’s a problem when you’re trying to time a flight. I was also disappointed by the cleanliness and service at Novotel Brussels Airport. The bathroom looked worn and neglected, with mould and grime around the shower and fixtures, and hadn’t been properly cleaned. A leaflet in the bathroom listed amenities such as shower caps and vanity kits, saying to call reception and they would bring them to the room. When I called, I was told they didn’t have shower caps and that I’d have to go downstairs for the vanity kit myself. The information was misleading, and the staff weren’t helpful. I was about to shower, so going back down wasn’t an option. Convenience and service matter at an airport hotel, and both fell short. I wouldn’t stay again.
