Hotel Victoria

We waited two hours for our food, one main course was forgotten, and our drinks weren’t topped up. When we asked about the missing dish and whether we could get another drink, since we had nothing left, the only response was, “What?!” The service felt blunt and completely unfriendly, with no compassion at all. We’d told the manager when booking that we speak only English or Dutch, but they kept speaking French throughout the evening. I wouldn’t recommend having dinner here.

The wait for dessert was absurd. It took ages to bring two Dame Blanche and a brownie, even though they’re pre-made and just need ice cream scooped on top. Unacceptable. The food was a joke, too. The mixed grill was embarrassing, and the chicken in that and another dish was dry and completely bland, with no salt or seasoning. The terrace and location look nice, but the flies were disgusting and ruined the atmosphere. We told the staff we were from the Netherlands and didn’t speak French, yet they kept speaking French. They showed no effort or interest in their guests.

The room was so noisy that we could hear everything from the hallway and the neighbors all night, and the heat was unbearable with the air conditioning broken. The fridge didn’t work either. We barely slept, and when we raised the problems, the staff were rude and did nothing to help. I’ve rarely had such a bad experience. Save yourself the trouble and book somewhere else.

Room #24 was clean, with great views, and the staff were friendly. Parking was no big deal in October. Do yourself a favor and stay here.
