The countryside around the accommodation is lovely, with excellent walks, and the ground floor is easy to access by wheelchair. The new beds and mattresses are good too. The rooms themselves aren’t luxurious, but they’re decent. This group stay came from an extensive renovation of part of a Carre farmhouse, and the furnishings are modern, though not especially sturdy. Some practical details were missed. There are too few electrical outlets in the kitchen, and the ones there are sit in odd places. In the bedrooms, the only socket is beside the bed for a lamp, so charging a phone is out of reach. There’s no handwashing sink in the upstairs toilet either, so you have to use the shared bathroom, which might be occupied. Wi-Fi is fine downstairs but very poor on the sleeping floor. The acoustics are also quite bad and echoey, making conversation hard to follow, especially for older people and anyone with hearing loss. It was frustrating that the owner tried to make us pay for a defect that was already there, a headrest on a sofa.
