I’ve stayed here a few times, and the warm welcome always stands out. The staff go out of their way to make me, as a Brit, feel at home, and the food is excellent. Rooms and breakfast are simple, but perfectly adequate. If clean, standard rooms suit you, it’s hard to find better. I really hope they can reopen.

It’s a lovely, welcoming place, with helpful and friendly people. What surprised me was finding it on a peaceful village green, given that it’s almost in the middle of the busy Ghent port area.

The rooms are spacious and the staff are really friendly. It’s a nice place, though the standards aren’t the newest. If you enjoy historic places, you’ll probably love it.
