Casa Lucinda

The breakfast was amazing, with homemade jams, bread, and milk. Speak with Cindy or Luciel about it. The owners are very friendly, and you can tell how much care and enthusiasm they’ve put into Casa Lucinda. The house is about 2 km from Ghent, with bus lines 17 and 18 nearby. There are plenty of supermarkets close by, including Carrefour and Aldi. We chose Ghent as a base between Bruges, Brussels, Antwerp, and other cities. There’s parking for one vehicle, and it’s best to let them know when you’ll arrive. For winter stays, each room has a floor to ceiling radiator, and there’s a fireplace in the living room. A spa and swimming pool complex is right outside, though we didn’t visit it. Cindy can tell you more. Nearby there’s also a wooded area with a playground, picnic spots, and paths for running and cycling. The house can sleep up to six. Upstairs are two bedrooms, one with a 180 cm double bed and the other with two 135 cm single beds. They share a bathroom with a sink. Downstairs, the living room can be made into a double bed, but we didn’t need to use it. There’s also a playroom, a full bathroom with a shower and bathtub, and the kitchen. It’s fully equipped with an oven, ceramic hob, dishwasher, cookware, tableware, refrigerator, a huge table, espresso machine, electric coffee maker, toaster, and kettle. We cooked there without any trouble. The house is decorated in a 20th century country style and has an upright piano. The terrace has several places to sit and relax, plus another full bathroom with a sauna, which we used when we got back in the afternoons. The towels are very good quality, with towels in every bathroom.

The accommodation was so well kept, with lots of care in the details. They were incredibly hospitable and helpful, and breakfast was delicious. A real B&B gem, highly recommended.
