Erasmus Hotel

The central location was excellent, and the owner gave us a friendly welcome and farewell. The room was a great size, as was the bathroom, though it was a little tired. We absolutely loved staying here: a charming hotel with character and olde worlde style. Breakfast was excellent, and we'd definitely stay again.

The staff were wonderful and breakfast was great. It's on a very quiet street, yet close to shopping and restaurants. A great traditional hotel, with a relaxing feel rather than anything fancy or super modern. Don't let the exterior fool you.

The bedroom was lovely and roomy, and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom could use an update, and breakfast was good. The location is unbeatable for getting to the main areas, and the trams are easy to reach.

We got a good price, but some parts of the stay could have been better. I wouldn't recommend it for Americans. The shower was the usual older, short European style, but it was also missing enough paneling to keep water from splashing out. The tiles had been painted white with what seemed like ordinary paint that was peeling, and the caulking needed redoing. Since water splashed out, we asked for fresh towels after using ours to dry the floor. They gave us only one, which was difficult because we didn't realize until the staff had left and we were stuck. The bed was very stiff, and only two small pillows were available with linens.
