La Lys Rooms & Suites

The location was excellent, and I highly recommend the place. We were made to feel very welcome, and our room was great, clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast was excellent, with a great selection beautifully laid out on each table.

We could walk to everything we wanted to see in the city center, and parked around the corner under a nearby mall. The hotel doesn't have its own parking, but that's hardly unusual in Europe. There was no elevator, though our room was just one flight up, so it wasn't a big deal. The woman running the place was so friendly. We arrived early and, by chance, our room was already ready. It was very clean, with good air conditioning and a Nespresso machine with pods. We didn't order breakfast, but as we were leaving she kindly gave us a couple of leftover croissants. Such lovely hospitality! We were also able to leave our stroller downstairs while we went up to the room.

We stayed one night and were happy with the accommodation. The place looked nice and clean, and the location was great. But when we were leaving, we found bloody red bugs that had stained the bed linen. We told the woman on site. She seemed somewhat surprised but didn't show real concern. 🙁

The location is on a quiet street, yet the city center is only a 10-minute walk away. Our room, number #5 on the 3rd floor, was modern, very clean and spacious for four adults. Breakfast exceeded my expectations, with orange juice, milk, coffee, egg, Gouda cheese, three kinds of cold cuts, yogurt, croissant, bread and more. When we had to catch an early train on departure day, we really appreciated the woman packing us a big bag of breakfast and bottled water. I'd highly recommend La Lys to tourists who are comfortable climbing stairs.
